Oh, man, guys I swear I'm not dead. -_-;

That whole graduating and finding a real job and a place on my own and general pretending to be a responsible adult kinda has me distracted right now.

But! I have some doodles sitting around that I hope I'll get up at some point when the new internet is less absurdly twitchy, and a ton of others I'd like to finish when I force myself to take the time. So maybe I'm not a lost cause quite yet.

...Yes, the journal title was shamelessly stolen from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

DaishoCon 09

So, uh, it's been a while?
Got back from Steven's Point's con on Monday but my laptop screen's been wonky and Photobucket and I got into an argument, so the journal update had to wait.
It's a good little con, well run with fun events, panels, and people. Nice work, guys.
Myself, Mir-ka's boyfriend, and Vest-Man left Friday for what we thought was about a 2 hour drive up. 3 hours later we were in Eau Claire, which was definitely the wrong way. Like, another 2 hours the wrong way. The whole roadtrip was epic fail, and Friday in general was moderate fail because of it.
Anyways, we finally made it and got into the hotel and wandered around getting our bearings for a while and that was about it.
Saturday was much less fail. I hit the Zombie Survival panel, Kingdom Hearts photoshoot (I was cosplaying my KH2 endgame Riku at the time,) part of the Daisho podcast with Travis Willingham (who the entire con seemed to have a giant crush on but I am rather unfamiliar with. I now know his favorite muppet is the Swedish Chef, though) and then participated in the swimsuit cosplay contest as swimsuit!Demyx. Wandered around and blew my hard-earned money (Christmas presents, a little Nightmare Before Christmas figure of Lock and Barrel, a tiny Batman figure of Robin, coffee pocky, and this print kara-pfee.deviantart.com/art/R… of TappyToeClaws's because I want to cosplay vampire!Riku) and then hit the cosplay contest, which was definitely quality. The entire group decided to go to Noodles for dinner (real food!) and then we hit the dance. Which was FANTASTIC.
Sunday was pretty laid-back, went to the Dr Horrible showing and definitely sang along, stopped by the vendor's room again and admired too-expensive super-pretty steampunk dresses, stopped by the end of the Daisho Show and went to the Vocaloid panel and learned all sorts of things I didn't know (like, wtf is Vocaloid anyways) and then we went home and didn't get lost this time!

And that is the story of my weekend. Here are pictures!

I'm Riku and swimsuit!Demyx, tamaringirl is DaishoStaff!Roxas, bishonenlover is Xigbar, TappyToeClaws is swimsuit!Lilith and Fanservice-chu aaand I think that's it.

What a terrible journal subject. That's ok, the rest of the journal's terrible, too. You can stop reading now, I won't mind.
Been back at school for my last year here (cross your fingers) for a while now, but have been too lazy to actually change the journal entry.
This semester I'm taking compilers and databases, and TAing for Intro to Programming again. Labs for that start this week. Good times.
New apartment, much nicer than the last one, but same roommates because they're cool people. Better location, too, it's much easier to get to class. I really like this place.
We just had a bachelorette party last night for a good friend who's getting married the same weekend as Geekkon (which /sucks/ but the wedding's going to be a whole lot of fun.) So I'm currently looking forward to that, and International Talk Like a Pirate Day, and the Where the Wild Things Are movie (I really /really/ hope it's good.)
Coming up art-wise is hopefully some TMNT, a little Danny Phantom, and some doodles to celebrate internet holidays.
And that's my life right now for people who care.

Sorry I haven't been keepin' up with the regular posting schedule recently. I've been really busy working 6 days a week at Girl Scout Camp and when I get home I'm pretty dead. Camp is awesome though, the people working there are so much fun. I do wish I had more time at home, I miss being able to work on art and hang out with friends.
Well, I think that's all I got to say for now. Hope all your summers are going well and you'll see some doodles from me when I get to 'em. Got a bunch of ninja turtles coming up, and a dinosaur or two.
